This Underrated Trail Just May Be The Most Peaceful Hike In Maryland

Ready to get outdoorsy? As the weather warms, we’re looking for even more trails to feature around the Old Line State. The following spot offers plenty of scenery and even better, peace and quiet. Check out Parkers Creek Preserve for a lovely day trip away from the hustle and bustle.
Parkers Creek Preserve is located in southern Maryland, bordering the Chesapeake Bay.
This preserve and wildlife management area covers thousands of acres, including ponds, salt marsh, streams, and more.
There are several hiking trails here where you can view the plants and wildlife. A favorite is the Parkers Creek Loop.
This 3.4 mile loop will lead you along boardwalk paths...
...And to impressive water views, where you'll want to sit and stay a while.
Marvel at the old trees...
...And keep your eyes peeled for turtles, water birds, and more.
There's even a cemetery along the trek that's a must-see.
The tombstones date back to the 1800s! A surprising find among this serene spot among nature.
Visit during spring for pops of color among the bramble...
Or head here during autumn, when reds, yellows, and oranges decorate the landscape.
Because this trek is lesser known, you won't normally find crowds here, which is just how we like it. Many AllTrails reviews refer to Parkers Creek Loop as peaceful and quiet, which may be just what you need.
