There’s a lot to see along the following trail in Maryland. And if you’re feeling REALLY adventurous (and have a lot of time to spend) you could take this entire trail all the way to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Great Allegheny Passage is a paved path that runs all the way from Cumberland, Maryland to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It's a total of 150-miles in length.
...and feel free to bicycle if you don't feel like walking. In fact, this is a popular area for cyclists to get in some miles. Along the way, you'll spot trains along Western Maryland Scenic Railroad...
...and get to walk through tunnels, too. Pictured here is Border tunnel near Frostburg. Consider bringing a flashlight because this is 957-feet of unlighted length.
If you were to keep going past the Maryland stretch, you'd also see various creeks, parks, and eventually, The Steel City -- a bucket list worthy excursion, indeed.
