One of the things I love most about Maryland is that it never ceases to surprise me. Just when I think I’ve seen it all, a kooky spot pops up that ignites my curiosity. If you also love unique attractions, then you’ll want to check out these 7 odd places around the state. Be sure to keep an open mind…
1. Bazaar
This just may be Maryland's most bizarre store. Step right in and witness peculiar taxidermy, wet specimens, and even human teeth jewelry. Buy a few things from this quirky spot and you're sure to have the most unique house on the block.
Address: 3534 Chestnut Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211
2. Vanadu Art House
Speaking of unique houses, there's no other place quite like the Vanadu Art House. This metal mecca is located in Hyattsville and is adorned with thousands of found objects. The owner has even decked out his vehicles in the same fashion, taking them on the road to local art shows.
Address: 3808 Nicholson Street, Hyattsville, MD 20782
3. Noah's Ark
If you've traveled along Interstate 68 in Western Maryland, you've likely spotted this odd structure. Years ago a local pastor had a reoccurring dream that God wanted him to build an ark. The construction has remained at a standstill for quite some time but that hasn't stopped people from visiting this place, which some find to be inspirational.
Address: 18606 Cherry Lane SW, Frostburg, MD 21532
4. National Museum of Health & Medicine
This museum began as an Army Medical Museum during the Civil War. It has since expanded to include all sorts of medical specimens, showcasing human growth, disease, and more. Those with a weak stomach may find some of the exhibits disturbing but it sure is intriguing.
Address: 2500 Linden Lane, Silver Spring, MD 20910
5. American Visionary Art Museum
This museum takes a detour from traditional artists and artwork and instead, features what they call visionaries . Exhibits are always changing and every time you go, you know you're witnessing something that's truly one-of-a-kind.
Address: 800 Key Hwy, Baltimore, MD 21230

Maryland's very own gravity hill is located in Burkittsville. Put your car in neutral at the bottom of the hill and be amazed as it seems to drift upwards. Some think it's an optical illusion, while others claim it's the ghosts of Civil War soldiers pushing the car. Whatever you think, it's worth a try!
