Located in Jefferson, you'll find the uniquely historic Gathland State Park.
The grounds were once home to George Alfred Townsend, a Civil War journalist. Townsend constructed several buildings here in the 1800s and their remnants remain.
Many of the remaining buildings and ruins look like they're straight out of a story book, specifically, Lord of the Rings. This little hut is reminiscent of a hobbit dwelling or pub.
