Who doesn’t love Annapolis, Maryland? Not only is it one of the most charming capital cities in the US, but it’s also full of history and scenery. If you thought this area couldn’t get any more beautiful, then you’re in for a surprise. Each year on May 1st, Annapolis celebrates May Day. It’s the most colorful day downtown and is a great way to celebrate spring. Check out the details below, and consider visiting this year!
It's easy to fall in love with Maryland's capital city. It's gorgeous from afar...
...and especially up close. Folks head here to enjoy shopping at the local boutiques, dining at the one-of-a-kind restaurants, and learning about the history of the area.
It's hard to imagine Annapolis becoming even more beautiful, but each year on May 1st, it happens!
This tradition began as a Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne beautification project in the 1950s. Now, this flowery event has been going strong for over 60 years!
On this special day, the doors of homes and businesses are adorned with whimsical flower baskets of all colors.
The May Day flower baskets are judged by the Garden Club, and although there can only be so many winners, they're ALL beautiful.
Come stroll the city, marveling at pops of color against historic homes...
...and smile at the whimsical displays in front of local businesses. If this doesn't get you in mood for spring, nothing will.
Come check out the May Day sights starting at 10am. See you in Annapolis!
