Prepare for a bright and bustling festival like no other. This week-long event opens your mind, guiding you through unique installations like you’ve never seen. Read on to learn more about the sparkling event that is Light City.
Located in Baltimore, Light City is the first large-scale, international light festival in the U.S.
2017 will be the second year for this surreal event and it promises to be even more impressive than last year. From March 31st through April 8th, the Inner Harbor and nearby Baltimore neighborhoods will transform into illuminated works of art.
The interactive "pool" installation changes color as you walk atop its glowing surface.
Tiny boats float in the harbor, bringing a splash of color against the darkness.
Leave your mark on the neon board filled with creative scribbles.
New this year, the MoonGarden features inflatable vinyl bubbles that use light and shadows to tell the tale of the Baltimore spirit.
Another new installation, among others, is the Umbrella Towers. These fun sculptures will float in the harbor like sailboats from a dream.
There will also be plenty of food, musical performances, and a carnival atmosphere to keep your evening full of fantastical fun.
