There’s always more to explore in the Old Line State. If you love a good boardwalk trail, head to the following park in southern Maryland. This hidden gem is full of waterside views that are best seen from the rustic boardwalk trails. Bring your camera to capture the scenic sights, and enjoy!
Kings Landing Park is located in Huntingtown, Maryland. According to the website, it "has a history stretching back to Captain John Smith's exploration and earlier."
The park has plenty of watery spots...
...that are perfect for a kayak or canoeing adventure.
During spring, head here to see if you can spot brightly colored wildflowers among the brush...
...and during summer, take a dip in the on-site swimming pool.
Most people visit Kings Landing Park for the boardwalk trails, and it's not hard to see why. They perfectly twist throughout plantlife...
...and some areas along the boardwalk feel completely secluded and serene.
Just be aware that the long grass and surrounding water makes this area a favorite place for insects, especially mosquitoes. Pack that bug spray!
This area is also great for fishing right off of the pier...
...or for those who like to sleep under the stars, primitive camping.
So pack a picnic, camera, and bug spray. A full day of exploring awaits at this beautiful Maryland gem.
