Ellicott City is known throughout Maryland for its culturally rich Old Town community, and recently it has become a sort of hub for tons of restaurants that feature incredible Asian cuisine. Yet nestled in this ever-expanding community is Mi Casa, the humble and exceedingly delicious Mexican restaurant that has plated some of Ellicott City’s most flavorful cuisine for over 25 years. Mi Casa has been a hallmark of the community that entire time. Under the management of one of the friendliest and most enthusiastic owners you could hope to meet, Mi Casa has brought Mexican food with a delightful Spanish twist to Maryland. The results are a flavorful menu in a comforting family atmosphere that should under no circumstances be missed!
Located just out on St. John’s Lane, Mi Casa has been serving Ellicott City for 26 years. The recipes are the pride and joy of the owner, so you truly cannot go wrong with any item on the menu!
The dining room has always had a homey atmosphere to me. My family enjoys coming for celebrations, as the staff always endeavor to make you feel welcome and at-ease.
The margaritas at Mi Casa are famous (or perhaps notorious is the better word) around town. You can order them the traditional way, as seen here, or frozen. They’re some of the best in the business, so if you are of age, be sure to arrive thirsty.
When you receive your chips and salsa for the table, be sure to ask about the homemade habanero salsa. This special sauce is absolutely packed with flavor. The love that goes into crafting it is evident!
The hearty and flavorful sauce of the Pollo Machaca is the kind of meal that really sticks to your ribs and warms your soul on cool evenings, made with bell peppers, onions, and shredded chicken.
If you’re in the mood for a classic Mi Casa staple, try the Redwood Enchilada. This dish has corn tortillas layered over with chicken, beef, and pork that have all been smothered in enchilada sauce.
Mi Casa also makes the finest fried ice cream in all of Ellicott City, so be sure not to skip dessert! The crunchy sweet shell makes a perfect compliment to the ice cream beneath.
Follow Mi Casa on Facebook – they keep you informed of when National Taco Day rolls around, let you order through the phone or online, update special menu items, and more!
