If you’ve been reading our articles for a while, then you know that we love featuring underrated restaurants. Let’s face it — sometimes the most well-known, famous eateries can disappoint. That’s why we enjoy highlighting the lesser known spots that we think can compete with the best of ’em. The following restaurant is one of those places. Read on to learn about Mrs. K’s Motel & Restaurant, and consider visiting next time you’re in the area.
Mrs. K's considers itself a southern restaurant, serving up filling comfort food in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
It's easy to miss this place because from the exterior, it appears to be an ordinary motel. While it is in fact a motor lodge, there's also a diner on-site that exceeds all expectations.
Step right in and have a seat at a booth. This place doesn't dazzle but it doesn't have to -- the food speaks for itself.
Mrs. K's is known for their southern cuisine that's cooked up just right. The fried chicken is a local favorite.
Or how about fried fish, sweet potatoes, and black eyed peas? This dish beckons to the south.
Most people head here for breakfast, which is no surprise. Just look at the steak and eggs!
There's no skimping on portions here. That is one giant pile of bacon, rather than the usual two measly strips you find at most diners.
Anything on the menu is sure to please and it's no surprise that this spot has become a favorite among locals.
Mrs. K's website refers to themselves as "The Best Kept Secret In Maryland," but we think the secret is finally out! Come give this place some much deserved love. You (and your taste buds) will be glad you did.
