The National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race takes place annually in Frederick, Maryland.
Many of the bikes are styled to look like they're centuries-old. High-wheel bikes, or penny farthing, was the first machine to be called a bicycle. They were most popular in the 1870s and 1880s.
This year's race will take place on August 1st. Come see the cyclists cover a 0.4-mile loop in downtown Frederick. A couple of qualifying heats and then the final race will determine the National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race champion.
