There are plenty of festivals in Maryland throughout the year, all offering a variety of things to see, do, and eat. If you only have time for one, make sure it’s the National Hard Crab Derby in Crisfield. This traditional event is going on its 70th year, only getting better with time. Check it out, and bring your appetite.
Crisfield is a cozy bay town known for its watermen. They work tirelessly catching a variety of seafood, especially blue crabs.
Things get even more interesting as the Hard Crab Derby commences. Race numbers are drawn onto the shells of live blue crabs and they're then placed into tiny pens.
Plan your trip to this Maryland festival in advance! This year, it will run from August 31st to September 3rd. For more information, visit the website here.
