Warmer weather means swimming, and we can’t wait to check out the following swimming hole in Maryland this year. It’s unlike any other place you’ll swim in the state because it used to be a marble quarry! This Maryland marvel is large, refreshing, and a whole lot of fun.
Did you know that there's a quarry swimming hole in Maryland? It's known as Beaver Dam Swimming Club, and it's located at 10820 Beaver Dam Road in Cockeysville.
This amazing place covers a whopping 30-acres! That means a ton of space for swimming, and other family-friendly activities as well.
Be aware that the average depth of the quarry is 40 feet deep. Strong swimmers recommended.
When you're not splashing around and jumping into this gorgeous quarry...
...you could also partake in a game of volleyball.
There are also plenty of places to lay out a towel and soak in the sun. And don't miss out on the two onsite pools with depths that reach only five feet. This may be a better option for families visiting with children.
Beaver Dam Swimming Club will be open for a limited time in 2022. Opening day is May 29th and you can visit on weekends until June 17th. So, mark your calendar and make sure to plan your visit within those few weeks!
