Ellicott Distilling Company is located right on Main Street, about halfway down the hill. The building is a beautiful brickwork structure that itself is a treat to look at from the outside.

You enter the building through the operational part of the distillery. If you come at the right time, you’ll almost certainly get a glimpse of your chosen beverage’s process of creation. It’s a real pleasure to watch passionate craftsmen at work.

Up the stairs, you’ll come to the dining room and bar, where the staff serve exquisite cocktails mixed with their own excellent product. The mojito is quite popular, but personally, I would recommend a neat glass of the single malt whiskey!

Once you have your drink, you can make your way up to the balcony for a gorgeous view of Old Town Ellicott City. There are two balcony levels built right into the granite cliff behind the distillery. It’s a serene spot to escape the summer swelter beneath the greenery.

In addition to some truly excellent spirits and beverages, the distillery also has a wonderful kitchen for bar eats. The salami sandwich is a fantastic compliment to anything you can find on the cocktail menu, and there are always new specials being crafted!
