There's No House In The World Like This One In Maryland
In Bethesda, you can find Maryland’s weirdest house.

Edward and Frances Garfinkle purchased the home in 1967, when it looked like every other house on the block. But they had a quirky vision and were determined to bring their whimsical fantasy to life. Using polyurethane foam, they covered their home until it became one of the oddest, yet magical looking structures in our state.

The following video by Grig Stamate gives us an up close and personal view of this wacky abode. It’s often referred to as the Mushroom House, Flintstone House, or Smurf House. See for yourself!
The Mushroom House was recently purchased in 2015 for $920,000 by an anonymous buyer.
