I don’t know about you, but warmer weather usually has me craving small town adventures. There are dozens of great small towns in Maryland to visit and the following one is at its best during warm, sunny days. From nature walks to waterside restaurants, this area is a must-visit and makes for a picture-perfect weekend getaway.
You'll find the small town of Solomons in Southern Maryland.
And speaking of the river walk area, you'll also find a handful of delicious restaurants sprinkled throughout as well, a few of which offer glorious water views. Here's a photo from The Lighthouse Restaurant & Dock Bar. Looks delicious, AND oh-so scenic.
Don't forget dessert! Although Lotus Kitchen offers amazing fresh meals, it's mostly known for its perfectly-made key lime pie. Sit at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy each and every bite.
Just a short walk away you'll also find a cozy beach with a great perspective of
Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge. Bring your camera and snap some photos!
While in the area, you also can't miss out on Calvert Marine Museum. There are plenty of interactive exhibits inside, many including real-life animals.
It's known as Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center and it includes dozens of outdoor sculptures, fairy houses, and even colorful play areas for children.
Sure, you could visit the Solomons area any time, but we especially love the vibes during spring and summertime. Visit the website linked below to learn more, and have a wonderful time in this charming waterside town in Maryland.
