Baltimoreans are unique, especially when it comes to our food. Seafood is an important part of our culture and you’ll find it on nearly everything, and there are other unique food combinations that anyone outside of Charm City just won’t understand. Check out the following list and see how many of these kooky combos you’ve eaten.
1. Sauerkraut with Thanksgiving dinner
This tradition has been passed on through the decades in Charm City, from generation to generation. Thanksgiving just doesn't feel complete without a side of sauerkraut.
2. Old Bay on everything
We LOVE Old Bay. You know what? Love may not be a strong enough word. You'll find this iconic seasoning on everything, from corn, to fries, and more.
3. Seafood Bloody Mary
If my bloody mary isn't loaded with seafood, I don't want it. Outsiders would gasp at this crazy display but to us, this is a picture perfect meal.
4. Marshmallow on Sno-balls
Ah, sno-balls. The summer treat that's only made better with a heaping pile of marshmallow. Don't knock it 'til you try it.
5. Crab on everything
We like crab on fries, in our omelets, on top of pasta, etc. We just can't get enough.
6. Coddie
This old-school food includes cod sandwiched between two saltines with a splash of mustard. You can still find coddies at a few places throughout Charm City and we recommond giving 'em a chance.
7. Crab Chips
It's fun watching my out-of-state friends gag while I eat crab chips. If you're not from here, you just don't understand.
8. Crab Mac and Cheese Dog
We couldn't leave out this iconic Camden Yards dish. It's messy but worth the effort.
9. This stomach-turning flavor combination
Are you a fan of Dead Rise beer? This Old Bay flavor isnt' for me, but there are plenty of locals who think this is the perfect summertime brew.
