Not all restaurants can say that they’re the oldest in the area, let alone have a connection to an iconic historical figure. The following eatery in Baltimore can claim both! Check out this one-of-a-kind restaurant that’s infused with history, character, and delicious food.
The Horse You Came In On Saloon is located in Baltimore's Fells Point neighborhood.
The bar-turned-saloon was established in 1775 so one can only imagine the fascinating things that have happened here throughout the centuries.
Perhaps what it's most known for is being the last stop of Edgar Allan Poe before his death. After leaving the bar on the night of October 3rd, 1849, he was later found incoherent and ultimately passed away four days later.
Some say even though Edgar Allan Poe is dead, his ghost still hangs around the saloon. People have claimed to spot his apparition walking towards the establishment or witnessed ghostly orbs appear throughout the bar area.
If history and ghostly sightings fascinate you then by all means, have a seat and partake in some mouthwatering food paired with a drink. Kick back and take in the live music. This is one experience that's not to be missed.
