Sometimes moving is a necessary part of life. Whether it’s for a job, education, family or other, moving to a new location has its pros and cons. Here are 10 things everyone who’s moved away from Baltimore has thought at least once:
1. I could seriously go for a Bergers cookie right now.
Stock up while you can.
2. The National Anthem just isn't the same anywhere else.
Shout "O!" anywhere other than Charm City and be prepared to get weird looks.
3. No one in my new town knows how to make a decent crab cake.
Some places in the city will ship crab cakes across the US, but it just isn't the same.
4. Any festivals outside of Baltimore are blah...
Due to the different cultures and creative folks throughout Baltimore, the festivals are truly one-of-a-kind.
5. And Christmas lights anywhere else are underwhelming.
We dare you to find a Christmas display as wonderfully quirky as Hampden's Miracle on 34th Street.
6. Where are the colorful rowhomes?
There's nothing cookie-cutter about the homes in Charm City.
7. And the city views?
Good luck finding another city with a perfectly placed park like this.
8. Where's all the history?
Never take Baltimore's history for granted. It's pretty amazing.
9. I miss the art scene.
From museums to murals and more, whimsical art surrounds us in Charm City.
10. There's no place like home.
Truth.
