We can’t get enough of Charm City! From the food, to the people, and the views, there is plenty worth loving. Today we’re featuring a handful of Baltimore’s marvels. The following spots are impressive for several reasons and they just may be the most incredible places in Baltimore.
1. Patterson Park Pagoda
Patterson Park is home to this stunning pagoda, which dates back all the way to the late 1800s. You can tour this structure every Sunday and the view from the top is delightful.
2. George Peabody Library
This ornate library was originally built for the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Today it's mostly used as a jaw-dropping wedding venue but you can also visit Monday through Friday, free of charge.
3. B & O Railroad Museum
Enclosed in this railroad museum is a roundhouse, giving you a unique look at railroad history up close. You can also partake in train rides for a family day trip to remember.
4. Baltimore World Trade Center
Not many people know that the Baltimore World Trade Center is the tallest pentagonal building in the world. You can also get a sky-high view of the city by visiting the observatory.
5. Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
This is actually the place of America's first cathedral. If you're a fan of architecture, you'll want to check out the inside for gorgeous arches and fine finishes.
6. Belvedere Hotel
Built 1902-1903, this iconic Baltimore building is beautiful both inside and out. If you're lucky enough to visit the 13th floor (now a private event venue), prepare for an out-of-this-world view of the city.
7. Bromo-Seltzer Tower
This grand structure looks like it belongs in a European city but it's right here in Baltimore, adding the perfect complement to the skyline. It was the tallest building in Baltimore from 1911 to 1923 and today, it's been transformed into studio spaces for local artists.
8. Fort McHenry
Known as the birthplace of the Star Spangled Banner, Fort McHenry should be on every Baltimorean's must-visit list. The unique structure of the fort is intriguing and adds a bit of character to the aerial view of the city.
9. Fort Carroll
You may have seen this structure floating in the middle of the Patapsco River and wondered what it was. It's actually a now-abandoned fort that was built in the 1800s for the defense of Baltimore.
10. Hampden's Miracle on 34th Street
We can't discuss marvels in Baltimore and not include Hampden's Miracle on 34th Street. Although this marvel is seasonal, it's sure to blow you away in the most magical way possible.
