Baltimore has a handful of natural hidden gems, a few of which we previously featured here . If you seek even more natural views and a change of scenery, then the following town is perfect for a day trip. Leave early in the morning to enjoy a full day of outdoor fun in Jarrettsville.
Jarrettsville is a 40 minute drive from Baltimore. For directions, click here .
Head to this rural town mid-summer, and you'll be treated to breathtaking sunflowers in bloom. Trust me, you'll want to bring your camera.
Although the sunflowers are seasonal, there's an even more impressive area attraction that's gorgeous year-round. Rocks State Park is great for hiking, especially when it comes to the end view. Pictured here is the natural outcropping known as the King and Queen Seat.
Or hike to Kilgore Falls. Spend some time taking in the watery view...
And if it's summertime, take a dip under the waterfall. Did you know that this is where they filmed the waterfall scene in the movie Tuck Everlasting?
All that exploring is sure to work up an appetite. End your day with a visit to Jarrettsville Creamery & Deli.
Chow down on some of the most delectable sandwiches around...
And then cool down with hand-scooped ice cream. What a sweet way to complete this gorgeous trip!
