Maryland has dozens of stunning state parks, some of which we’ve discussed in a previous post here. Elk Neck State Park however, is by far one of the most underrated parks in our state. It’s beautiful, has diverse landscapes, and plenty of recreational activities. If you’ve never visited Elk Neck State Park, you may want to add it to your must-visit list for the following reasons…
With over 2,188 acres, you could spend an entire day (or camp out for a weekend) exploring the different landscapes of the park.
The Turkey Point Lighthouse is icing on the cake. Located at the southern tip of the park, the lighthouse is a gorgeous sight against the Chesapeake Bay in the background.
With forests, beaches, marshlands, fishing, a nature center, playground, and so much more, Elk Neck State Park is a Maryland gem that truly has it all.
