There’s nothing better than sinking your teeth into a juicy burger, but they can be hit or miss. Some might look tempting, but when you take a bite, you find a dry, flavorless sandwich made with a frozen beef patty and soggy vegetables. There’s certainly no reason to suffer with a second-rate burger when we have an award-winning burger joint right here. Check out Wild Willy’s Burgers:
Welcome to Wild Willy's Burgers! This neighborhood eatery has been around for 18 years, and it was recently named by Trip Advisor as the best burger in all of Maine. The restaurant also won in the New Hampshire category.
You'll find this little gem at 765 U.S. Route 1, York, Me 03909.
Over the years, Wild Willy's has grown to include four locations: York, ME; Rochester, NH; Worcester, MA; and Watertown, MA. This shop in York is the original though, and though its owners recently sold it and retired, the new owners are committed to keeping Wild Willy's long-standing traditions and delicious burgers.
Step inside, and you'll find the same cool murals covering the walls of the dining room. They were painted years ago by local artist Scott Thomas, who comes around every so often to freshen them up.
While the decor is reason enough to visit, the burgers are what will keep you coming back over and over again. The restaurant closes every winter from the end of December to the first of March, and we're waiting with bated breath for the new season to start!
Wild Willy's secret is its fresh ingredients. Every burger is made with fresh, hand-pressed beef, pillowy bakery buns and crisp lettuce. Just one bite, and you'll be hooked for life.
