Michelle's life is a colorful map of exploration and adventure. From the iconic streets of New York to the sunny shores of Florida, the jagged coast of Maine to the rugged terrain of Montana, she's been fortunate to call some of America's most beautiful states home. Beyond the U.S., Michelle's wanderlust has taken her on a motorcycle journey through India, led her to teach English in Hanoi, and saw her studying Spanish in Guatemala. Michelle graduated with a communications degree from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and in addition to a career in advertising has worked with OnlyInYourState since 2016, where her love for travel and storytelling converges. Alongside writing and exploring, Michelle finds joy in photography, staying active, and time with her family.

No matter the season there’s nothing like curling up with a good book. This is especially true when you need a bit of an escape from your everyday life. And we think everyone can agree that now is a great time to plan even just a few minutes of escape. If you’re anything like us, you’re always on the lookout for a few new titles and there’s no better place to find them than at this enormous store in Wells.
While Maine certainly has its fair share of long-standing family-run businesses, few can say they specialize in anything the way Harding's Books, located in Wells, does!
They also carry both prints and maps dating back to the 16th through 19th centuries. This is a great place to visit if you have someone in your life that loves this type of history since you might have a hard time finding great gifts for them anywhere else.
Most book lovers enjoy simply perusing the shelves and there's no better place to do that than Harding's Book. That shouldn't come as a surprise given just how huge this place is.
But, if you're not much of a browser and prefer to go directly to what you want be sure to speak with the staff. They have immense knowledge of all things literary and there's a good chance they know exactly what's on the shelves at any given time.
The southern Maine location makes this a popular spot in the summer, so if you're a local consider stopping by throughout the year if you like the peace that comes with looking for and then enjoying a good book!
Harding’s Bookstore is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can learn more about it by checking out their website or by following them on Facebook. If you have questions you can reach them on 207-646-8785.
