Even when the weather is cold and snow is in the forecast, Maine summers are on our mind. And when it actually is summer, all we can think about is getting outside and enjoying every moment. Because, as every Mainer knows, these days don’t last long! If you’re plotting out the best use of your warm-weather weekends, consider booking yourself a stay on this unique houseboat. It’s beautiful and it’s located in one of the most picturesque areas of the state.
A lot of folks in Maine look forward to going to camp each summer. And many times these camps are located on a lake. But imagine if your camp experience put you directly on the lake! That's what you'll get at Nomad, the floating camp on Rangeley Lake.
The space here is beautiful and airy, perfect for enjoying the sunny lake vibes in the summer. A stay here is a little like a tiny house, with the added benefit of having water just outside your door.
There are a few options for a stay aboard Nomad. You can choose to stay by the dock, enjoying access to the lakeside firepit, kayaks and nearby Oquossoc for fun meals and drinks. This is a great way to appreciate Nomad, while still being able to enjoy all the things offered in the area.
You can also choose to stay moored just off the land, offering more access to the water. This also comes with a canoe to get to shore for the same access as the dockside option. The third option is for stays of two nights or more and has you sleeping in a cove on the lake for more privacy.
Note that WiFi is available with the dockside option and sometimes manages to work when you're moored. But if you choose to say in a cove, consider yourself totally unplugged when it comes to the internet.
Whichever you choose, you'll love waking up on Nomad. She sleeps 4 in 3 beds, including this beauty at the top! Imagine the sun hitting your face as you wake up and the stars wishing you a good night.
We love the idea of saying aboard this house boat and think you'll love it too. It's a great way to appreciate what Maine has to offer, from the land to the sea to the sky!
Floating Camp Nomad currently has availability throughout the summer. The price per night is about $270 but decreases by 15% if you book a full week. You can learn more about it and book yourself some time through Airbnb.
