The entire state of Maine is pretty much jaw-dropping outdoor recreation areas, but the crown jewel of our state park system is particularly enchanting. If you’re looking for the ultimate outdoor adventure, head to Baxter State Park.
Baxter State Park encompasses 209,501 acres around Mount Katahdin. It's a magnificent spot for all kinds of outdoor recreation.
Camp at one of the sites here for an overnight adventure. The sites are open in summer and winter, but they're primitive. You won't find running water or electricity anywhere in the park.
