12 Reasons We Are Thankful For Living In Maine
Happy Thanksgiving, Mainers! Today we’ll keep this short and sweet so you can spend time with the people, animals and things that mean the most. Living in Maine means we have so very much to be thankful for. From the myriad outdoor opportunities to the camp we grew up visiting in the summer to the family that lives close enough to hug on a daily basis. When you need a break from the action, take a few minutes to read through this list of reasons we have to be thankful for living in Maine.

With views like this one of the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, it's hard not to be thankful for our coastline. It's a great place to take out-of-town family when it's time to get out of the house for a change of scenery.

As Mainers, we truly are ready for anything when it comes to weather. Winter's coming? NO PROBLEM! And, of course, thanks to Temp Tales for summing up our state so perfectly.

This photo was take yesterday, the day before Thanksgiving. Thank you, Portland, for having the most tame holiday travel situation in all of America.

Even if we don't munch down on the feathered friends that cross through the front yard, we can always tell our visiting family that the turkey on the table is local. They'll never know and they'll go home telling everyone how authentic their Thanksgiving was.

Love it or hate it (we think it tastes like medicine) it feels good to look in the fridge and see those cans of Moxie. It's a nice reminder that there's no place like Maine. Now, if only the beer in this picture was Baxter, we'd be all set.

We have some of the most gorgeous state parks in the country. Baxter State Park was gifted by former Maine governor Percival P. Baxter. The only stipulation was that it must remain wild. It certainly has. Thank you, Mr. Baxter.
