If you're a lover of maritime history, Castine is the place for you! Built in 1921 for Arctic exploration, Bowdoin Schooner calls this town home. In fact, this beauty is one of the most notable elements of the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine. Head to the town for beautiful views, as well as some fun Maine history.
Home to Brooklin Boat Yard, this place feels like the quintessential Maine town. But it's also home to writers, poets and artists. Come to enjoy the scenery and you might just think about moving full-time.
This midcoast island can be accessed by a ferry ride from Rockland. The trip is beautiful, but arrival on the island is even better. A beautiful harbor, quaint downtown and nature preserve with trails are just a few of the things that make this place so great.
This little town has a main street filled with restaurants, bars and shops that will keep you busy all day. What was once a quiet little pass-through is now a destination all on its own. This small town has over 2,500 year-round residents, which is a testament to just how great it is. There's a ton of fantastic nature to explore, but the art scene here is fun too.
