There are plenty of small towns to explore in Maine, and many come with unique features you just won’t find anywhere else. From hiking trails to coastal views to mom-and-pop shops and local restaurants, Maine might just be the perfect state to take in the diverse personality of tons of little towns. One of our favorite ways to enjoy a day out is with some small-town shopping in Maine.
Located in Oxford County, Norway is one of our favorite little towns in Maine! Its history dates back to 1797 when the town was home to many veterans of the Revolutionary War.
Over time the downtown area has evolved to become one of the most delightful in the state. It's even home to one of the state's best small breweries, Norway Brewing Company.

If you're less of a beer person and more of a coffee person, you'll want to make your way down Main Street to visit Cafe Nomad. Great for drinks, sandwiches, and baked goods, this is a lovely place to have lunch and dig into a good book.
If you're looking for a way to enjoy a beverage while honing your skills, visit Fiber and Vine, a local knitting shop that also sells wine(!). You might not expect to find a place like this in a town about an hour from Portland, but here it is!

If you love Maine, you'll love the idea of supporting local makers from nearby Norway. Handmade Maine sells crafts, jewelry, and more... all created by fellow Mainers!

One of the things we love about Norway is just how quaint it is. Before you finish up your afternoon, head to this little antique store for fun finds with Maine flair.
