Take this wonderful walking trail to reach the waterfall on the Androscoggin River. The route is fairly simple to follow and this time of year the falls will be loud and impressive.

This hike to reach this beauty can be considered challenging, but if you're up for the adventure it's worth it for the two waterfalls you'll find. The trail follows the Appalachian Trail for a bit, so you might have some fun conversations along the way.

Step Falls Preserve Mahoosuc Land Trust, 1657 Bear River Rd, Newry, ME 04261, USA
Take the one-mile trail leading to the base of the falls to appreciate all the power that comes with them when the snow is melting. The falls are impressive year-round, but we especially love spring. The hike should take about 45 minutes and is worth it when you arrive.

The second is just below the first and offers another 30-foot drop. The summer is a popular time to visit, but since you can't swim visiting in the spring when the water is rushing means you won't miss out on any fun.
