This 1.5-mile hike will take you not only through the beautiful and classic Maine forest but with a wonderful view at the top. Once at the peak of this trail you will notice a nice view of Crescent Lake and Sebago Lake nearby. On a clear day off on the horizon, you will see the White Mountains’ beautiful peaks in New Hampshire, including the ever towering Mount Washington. So grab your hiking backpack and a snack to enjoy at the Pismire Bluff Trail in Maine.
As any hiker or adventurer knows, the journey getting there is half the fun. This trail is a 1.5-mile out and back hike with 452-feet of elevation gain. It is rated as moderate and will take you through a well-maintained path gradually to the top. So don’t forget to take in the simple sights all around you.
The Pismire Bluff Trail has nice signs and trail markers to get you through without any issues. All of that is possible due to the hard work of Loon Echo Land Trust which owns and manages the Raymond Community Forest.
The Pismire Bluff Trail isn't far off Route 302 in Raymond, Maine. If you like the view of the White Mountains from the top of the trail, hop back onto 302 and head west to get a closer look. It only takes about an hour from there to get into the White Mountains National Forest.
This trail is accessible in all seasons. For the winter bring your snowshoes after some freshly fallen snow. In the spring when cabin fever settles in heavy, beat it back by getting outside and taking in the new growth all around you.
The summer is always an inviting time for any Maine trail with lush green forestry all around you. Last but not least of course you know New England autumns are full of some of the best fall colors. Enjoy it every season.
