Summer in Maine is an entire mood. It’s a mix of nostalgia, adventurousness and good times. No matter what your preferred feeling is, you’ll find it somewhere in Vacationland during the summer when the days are long, the breezes warm and the salty air is unmistakable. There are a lot of ways to capture this feeling, but one of our favorites is visiting the attractions that have been a staple of the summer season for decades. This water park is a great example!
Aquaboggan Waterpark in Saco has been delighting locals and people from away for more than 40 action-packed years! Located off Route 1, it's pretty much impossible to not see just how much fun everyone is having as you drive by. The next time you see it, do yourself a favor and pull in for a fun day out.
Maine's very first water park offers lots of activities, but not so many that you'll leave wishing you'd had time to try them all. We think it's the perfect size and set-up for a fun day out. One of the biggest attractions is the Giant Wave Pool. Enjoy an all-day high tide as 750,000 gallons of waves will make you feel like you're at the ocean.
But we also love that there's a section of the pool to enjoy in a more leisurely way. Grab one of the lounge chairs and relax by the pool, or get in and have a dip. Either way, you'll have fun.
Those with more of as need for speed will want to check out the park's most action-packed ride. The Stealth 5 is a 45-foot tall hydro half-pipe. You'll slip and slide all over the place before landing in the pool below. This one is definitely not for those who scare easily and it might be the most adventurous of all the attractions here.
Totally Tubular is a fun family-friendly ride that allows you to slide down on an inflatable raft. Once you hit the water, you'll slide along the top before stopping for a dip and another go at the top!
Once you've had your fill of fun in the water head over to the Bumpin Boats. These self-propelled boats let you bump into pals while enjoying the splash that comes with it.
And when you're ready to get dry, head on over to one of the non-water attractions. They've got miniature golf and Grand Prix go-karts making this park a one-stop-shop for great summer fun.
Aquaboggan Waterpark is open every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General tickets are $26 and give visitors over 4-feet unlimited access to all pools, slides, and mini-golf. Junior tickets are $21 and give visitors under 4-feet unlimited access to all pools, slides, and mini-golf. A Super Pass is considered the best value and provides all-day unlimited use of all pools, slides, mini-golf, Bumpin’ Boats, two rides on the Grand Prix Go-Carts, and one ride on the Paddle Boats.
You can learn more about visiting and other ticket types on their website. Or, check them out on Facebook. If you still have questions you can reach them on 207-282-3112.
