My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
When the summer heat starts to retreat and cool air sweeps in, you know it’s fall in Maine. The green of one season gives way to a vast array of colors everywhere you look. This beautiful display is something that we have celebrated for years and years. One of the best Maine fall Festivals is coming back which has been celebrating the season annually for over 20 years, and this year they are coming back for an event you will not want to miss. The Freeport Fall Festival is a great place to get outside and enjoy the crisp fall air with all your fellow Mainers.
With over 200 vendors for culinary arts, crafts, family activities, live music, and a whole lot more this is one of the best fall festivals in Maine and you will want to attend. This event will take place either in September or October each year so make sure you check the website for the exact date. For all up-to-date information please visit the Freeport Fall Festival website for any more information and then mark your calendars for this awesome event. While you are at the festival don’t forget to stop by and shop at L.L.Bean, it is a Maine tradition after all. If you are still in the fall spirit come back later when they host the Camp Sunshine’s Pumpkin Festival!
If you want a great place to take a fall walk then we know an excellent arboretum you should try, but it’s really good to visit any time of the year.
The Freeport Fall Festival transforms this little town into a bustling and lively autumn celebration.
This is considered to be one of the greatest of all the fall festivals in Maine so you won't want to miss it. The event will bring together over 200 vendors from food to artists. This event is a three-day festival that is spread out across the L.L. Bean campus, Freeport Village Station, Key Bank lawn, and the corners of West & Main Streets. The three days are packed full of activities and fun so make sure to check the schedule of events throughout the weekend. We will put a link to the events website at the end of this article.
Throughout the celebration, there will be tons of activities that are perfect for kids. A culmination of all of these things that makes this one of the best festivals in Maine.
Glitter tattoos, face painting, and crafts will all be taking place at various times during the three-day event. If you make your way to the L.L. Bean Discovery Park then you will see a massive lineup of musical talent. This stage has been shared with some pretty incredible nationally recognized talent over the years and this year will be no different. If you have seen a live performance here you know you are in for a treat.

Wonderful food options can be found at the Freeport Fall Festival.
There will be a wide variety of food trucks and culinary arts to indulge in. One of my favorites in previous years was Athena’s Cantina Food Truck with a mix of Latin-infused foods.
Food can be art too and you will find many food trucks slinging great tasting food that looks as good as it tastes. With artistically crafted charcuterie boxes and cones to mounds of delicious nachos. They are so beautiful that you may not even want to eat them, but trust me you'll wanna eat them.
One of the booths that will be at the festival is the 200 Faces: Portraits by Jeanelle. This artist takes reference photos of your furry companions and paints beautiful portraits to cherish forever. This is also one of my personal favorites.
Unique artists will create their own work that can not be found anywhere else.
You can find everything from cute pet toys to paintings, woodworking pieces, and so much more. These are just a small sampling of the amazing art that will be found throughout the event.

New England has some of the best fall colors in the country and we are blessed with some pretty amazing places to see it. Here are some of my favorite places to see fall foliage in Maine:
Vaughan Woods in Hallowell which is known by the locals as Hobbit Land.
In the White Mountains, you will get the best views in New Hampshire but drive on over to Fryeburg and in the surrounding area to get fantastic views of the fall foliage-covered peeks.
