As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Just when you thought Maine couldn’t get any more Maine-y, one hotel in the southern part of the state went and created an incredibly unique experience for those who love all things lobster! We already know that getting away from reality and staying someplace in Maine for a few nights is special, but add some seafood and nautical touches and you’ve got an escape you won’t soon forget!
The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel & Restaurant in Kennebunkport is a great place to spend a few centrally located nights in one of the state's most beautiful towns.
The hotel, which sits directly on the Kennebunk River and just minutes from the ocean, offers 25 guest rooms in two different buildings. Everything here is crisp, contemporary and each room and common space just exudes the nautical feel of Maine.
Every room is worth considering, but right now our favorite is the Lobster Suite! The room features a comfy king bed as well and it was designed and decorated with the Maine Lobster Collaborative and a group of local artists and incredible designers.
While you can book the Lobster Suite on its own, we recommend going for The Maine Lobster Experience at The Boathouse. This hotel special was designed with the Maine lobster industry in mind and is meant to foster a love and appreciation of all things Maine lobster.
Bookable between May 26 and October 3, 2021, this special package includes three nights in the Lobster Suite, as long with two cans of Blue Lobster Chardonnay & cheese board, a
shore dinner for two at The Boathouse Restaurant and two tickets for the Rugosa Lobster Cruise.
We especially love that visitors will also receive a Lobster Bake from Cape Porpoise Lobster Co. which is sent to after the stay to allow for a fun continuation of the Maine experience at home. How cool is that?
There are quite a few hotels, bed and breakfasts and even camping and glamping spots to enjoy in this part of the state. But we can assure you that none will come with a lobster experience like this one!
The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel offers 25 guestrooms in two different buildings. The Maine Lobster Experiene is certainly unique, but the price does start high at about $2,300. You can learn more about the hotel and check availability by visiting their website. You can also follow them on Facebook to learn about special. They can be reached on 877-266-1304.
