You know it’s summertime in Maine when the blueberries ripen on the bush and the raspberries turn a deep red. There’s nothing like fresh berries for jam, pies, and snacks, and you can pick your own at this beautiful farm in Limerick.
Every year in mid-summer, the raspberries and blueberries at Libby & Son U-Picks ripen and are ready for the picking. Visit this beautiful farm in Limerick to join in the fun.
The picking season varies a little bit from year to year. In 2019, the wet spring delayed the crops a bit, but the raspberries and blueberries should be ready in mid-July.
These juicy little gems are just waiting to be plucked from the raspberry bushes to be made into jam, added into baked goods, or eaten right out of your hand.
Summer raspberries are ready to go from mid-July to early August; the autumn crop ripens in mid-August and goes throughout October, til the first freeze.
Plan to spend several hours here at the farm, picking berries and enjoying the fresh air. You can bring a picnic lunch with you, and restrooms are available. A shuttle will take you to the part of the field where the berries are ripe on the day you visit.
Visit the Libby & Son U-Picks website to learn more about this farm and its crops, and make sure to follow its Facebook page to stay updated on what’s ripe for the picking.
