Spring is officially here! Bring on the sunshine, bring on the picnics and bring on the lobster rolls! You won’t leave with fresh veggies, but the beauty and aroma in the air here will keep you coming back. Plus, it’s a great place to visit if you need gifts.
The 26-acre Glendarragh Farm is located along the St. George River in beautiful Appleton, Maine. And, they’ve got more than a dozen lavender varieties!
The farm dates back to 1822 and once was home to lots of different animals that sustained the farmers. You can walk around and imagine what it was like with cattle and poultry.
The lavender is harvested on the farm and then dried in a beautiful post-and-beam barn. After that it’s used for bath products, gifts, and cooking products.
It’s nice to know that purchase from Glendarragh Farm Lavender continues to help reclaim the area's agricultural heritage while also helping local residents find a creative, productive outlet.
While the farm is truly a working farm and they're truly focused on the growing and creation process here, there are opportunities to visit. They’re open during harvest season as well as a few other special days they announce throughout the year.
The Glendarragh Lavender Farm store is located at 22 Main St., Camden, Maine. You can learn more on their website. Or, check them out on Facebook. They can be reached on 207-236-8151.
