There are a lot of places in Maine to visit if you’re craving comfort food. But lately it seems folks are talking a lot about Portland for things like that. Don’t get us wrong, we love the Portland food scene! But in a state as diverse as Maine it’s important to remember that great food can be found all over. And this little spot in the midcoast is one of the best. But don’t let the word “cafe” fool you. This menu has something for everyone!
From the outside, Cafe Miranda in Rockland looks like a small cafe in a modest home.
Started by Chef Kerry Altiero who brought his passion for great food and Italian heritage and mixed it with a love of Rockland, this place has it all! In fact, the "small plates" section of the supper menu has no less than 25 items!
And the "Comfort Food" section features an eclectic mix of heritage dishes, including "Pierogies!" which come filled with potato & cheese, and have crispy sautéed beef and caramelized onion, mushrooms, garlic, basil, parsley and butter with fire roasted tomato.
Cafe Miranda is open twice every day. From Monday through Thursday you can visit from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. From Friday through Saturday they’re open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday they’re open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then again from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can learn more about them on their website, or visit them on Facebook. You can reach them on 207-594-2034.
