There are some days that modern technology and social media thrill us. But, mostly we find ourselves just wishing we could relive the summer of love. In fact, any excuse to go back in time to enjoy free love, good vibes and great music is fine with us. That’s why this hippie-themed restaurant in Maine is one of our favorites. It’s un-fussy, lots of fun and the portions are the kind that will keep you satisfied until someone actually does invent a time machine.
Silly's Restaurant in Portland is one of those places that locals consider an institution.
There's no place in Portland with a larger menu - from sandwiches to salads to plates to bowls to burgers - it might take you longer to make a selection than it does to actually finish your meal.
Portions are so large, you'd probably be satisfied with just an appetizer. But, trust us when we say you need to order as much as will fit on the table.
Silly’s is located at 40 Washington Ave., Portland, Maine. They’re open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’re closed on Monday and Tuesday. You can learn more about them through their website or on Facebook or give them a call on 207-772-0360.
