At Maine Forest Yurts you can stay in an eco-friendly yurt on the bank of Runaround Pond. The compound was established by Bob Crowley, a Mainer who competed on and won the show “Survivor” in 2008. He took those outdoor skills and put them to good use creating Maine Forest Yurts, a beautiful yurt campground where travelers can unwind amidst the Pine Tree State’s natural beauty.
Maine Forest Yurts sits on 100 acres at the edge of the pond. The area is teaming with wildlife and the pond offers access to water spots and swimming as well as stunning scenery.
The yurts are all furnished with wood fire stoves, so they can be used year-round. You'll also find bunk beds and a table and chairs in the round and welcoming home. Some of the larger yurts have a stove and cooking area inside as well.
These spacious and beautiful hideaways give you just enough comforts of everyday life without taking away from your enjoyment of the natural world around you.
In the winter, there's sledding, hiking, and snowball fights to be had. In the summer, scout for local fungi, kayak on the pond, and explore the expansive property.
There are four dwellings at this yurt campground in Maine, which means everyone has their own space. You might find yourself befriending your fellow travelers, but it's also totally fine to keep to yourself for a quiet and reflective stay!
Maine Forest Yurts can operate as an exciting family getaway, a cozy and romantic couple’s retreat, or a Walden-style exploration for an individual looking for quiet connectivity with the landscape. No matter your motivation, you’re sure to have a unique experience at this yurt campground in Maine!
