Some of the most beautiful New England adventures are available right here in Maine. From the forests to the coast to the mountain peaks, give us some free time and you’re likely to find us exploring as much of the outdoors as we can. Most states have access to nature, but we like to think Maine is a bit more special. Great proof of that is this hike that leads through the forest, over a mountain, and directly to the coast. As we like to say, “only in Maine!”
One of the most fun and unique hikes in Maine includes both a mountain and a beach. To the surprise of many, this beautiful route is rated as easy.
While the first section includes an ascent up Morse Mountain, the elevation gain is slow and minimal and the trail is primarily gravel and packed dirt.
Once you get to the summit of Morse Mountain you'll want to look out over your next destination. Seawall Beach lies just beyond the mountain and it's a beautiful site to take in from this vantage point.
And even if you just spend a few moments before turning around, this is one hike you won't soon forget.
The Morse Mountain to Seawall Beach Trail can be found in Popham Beach State Park. It’s accessible year-round, but May and October are considered optimal times to visit. You can learn more about it by checking out alltrails.com.
