There are tons of ways to have fun in Maine, but we’re always on the lookout for the more unique things to do. Between all the hiking and the exploring, there are times when expressing our creative side is what we crave. That’s why we love this glass studio in Montville. It offers beautiful works of art to purchase, but also provides classes for folks with a desire to create their own beautiful pieces.
Jacobson Glass Studio is tucked away in little Montville, nestled between Liberty and Freedom.
Run by David Jacobson who has been working on his method for over 26 years, this art studio carries some of the most beautiful pieces of art, both decorate and usable in everyday life.
Fun fact! He's also a renowned cartoonist. His pieces have been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post and USA Today. In fact, he was so dedicated it was 17 years before he returned to glass-blowing by taking classes to train in the Venetian style. He moved to Maine in 2003 to open his studio.
You can even come to create a custom piece that you have in mind for a gift. Or, create a memorial to a loved one. The possibilities for creation are nearly endless.
Jacobson Glass Studio is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They’re closed on Saturday and Sunday. You can learn more about the art as well as glass-blowing classes on their website. Or, follow them on Facebook. You can reach them on 914-715-6848.
