Getting out into the great outdoors of Maine is one of the best ways to appreciate the state. That can be a simple hike or it can be spending a night or two sleeping under the stars. The only problem? Sleeping on the ground isn’t for everyone. For those people, we love the idea of glamping! This more comfortable (or “glamorous” as the name suggests) version of camping is a fantastic way to experience the outdoors while staying comfortable and having fun. This new spot near Acadia National Park is a great option for doing it!
Acadia National Park, located near Bar Harbor is a quintessential part of Maine's landscape. New England's only national park offers everything from beaches to hiking trails to lighthouses.
There's so much do and see in Acadia that a visit really requires more than one day. We think a long weekend is a perfect amount of time and there's no better way to spend those nights than at Maine's newest glamping spot!
Under Canvas sits about 35 minutes from the park and offers the perfect base for exploring not just Acadia, but the entire region. There are 63 safari-style canvas accommodations here and each offers plenty of room.
The smallest version is the Deluxe Tent which is perfect if you don't need a ton of room. However, this space still offers plenty of it! It features a king-size bed and a private bathroom with a shower, sink, and a flushing toilet. One night and you'll forget everything you thought you knew about traditional camping.
There are also three different suites, including the Stargazer pictured here. It sleeps two people and has a unique window above the bed for visitors to take in the night sky above.
One of the most important elements of a glamping trip is the bathroom and these are absolutely perfect. In fact, they rival some that might be found in regular luxury resorts!
Each of the tents offers everything you'll need for a beautiful stay. And when you want to see the sights you're already close to Bar Harbor and the surrounding area.
This is one camping trip you'll never forget. For all the right reasons!
Under Canvas Acadia is brand new and will open for the first time this season. Tents can be booked for nights from early May through early October in 2021 for about $289 a night depending on your dates. You can learn more about the three tents available by checking out the website. You can book here. If you have questions give them a call on 207-512–4265.
