Living in Maine is something special no matter what type of home you have. Whether you’re renting, own your own home or prefer keep things interesting by living a more mobile lifestyle in a camper or van. While of that is great, we think it’s obvious that the ideal situation is probably a Gilded-Age mansion right here in Vacationland. You’re definitely worth it! And the best news? It’s up for auction, so you’re bound to get a great deal.
If you're searching for that perfect next home, you'll probably want to consider ponying up the dough for this place! Named "East of Eden," it was originally built in 1909 by renowned architect Guy Lowell. It's been completely restored and cared for all these years, making it feel brand-new.
Located in Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island you might even be able to offset the cost by renting it out to folks who want to visit Acadia. You're going to need to find SOME way to afford it because even though it's at auction, some might consider this a tad steep.
The mansion is located in an area that was once referred to as "Millionaire’s Row" just off Route 3. It's between the village of Hulls Cove and downtown Bar Harbor.
So, how much are we talking about? Right now the property is said to be valued at about $5 million, which is quite a drastic reduction from the original price!
