There’s a lot to love about Maine’s small, off-the-beaten-path eateries. They’re filled with love, a community spirit, and most have been around for quite a long time. And while it’s almost impossible to choose a favorite, we’re partial to the ones with a little bit of personality. This spot is located inside a very unexpected building and we think you’ll love it!
Nook & Cranny Restaurant is located near the Canadian border in Baileyville. And while it might be out of the way for some, this unique spot might just be worth the adventure to find!
It's located inside a former chicken coop, which somehow adds to how much we love this place! Walk in and you'd never know. The interior is welcoming and cozy.
But we also love their comfort food. Check out this shaved hot roast beef sandwich which comes with a side of their vegetable medley and homemade mashed potatoes.
You might be surprised to learn that they also serve things like this Tataki Tuna, which is sesame seared sashimi tuna with wasabi, pickled ginger, mixed greens, and balsamic.
And that's not the only seafood you'll find here. Being in Maine it should come as no surprise that they've got fresh gathered clams right from nearby flats.
We love this little local spot and think you will too.
Nook and Cranny Restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’re closed on Monday. You can learn more about them by checking out their website or following them on Facebook. Have questions? Give them a call on 207-454-3335.
