These days, there are plenty of places to enjoy outdoor dining here in Maine. From igloos to fire pits, local restaurants have gone out of their way to make sure that people can continue to enjoy a meal out without having to feel uncomfortable or cramped inside. One of our favorite versions is what this local brewery and distillery has created!
Batson River Brewing & Distilling in Kennebunk might sit in the most quintessential Maine part of town! Overlooking the water and close to the center of town, there's a lot to love about this place.
For one, the inside is oh-so-cozy this time of year. We're used to enjoying the bar with friends with the kind of vibes that make us feel lucky to be in Maine.
From now through the winter you can enjoy dining in a typical Maine fish shack! These look just like the ones that you'll see all over the state on lakes and ponds throughout the winter. Each shack can seat up to six people, which makes it perfect to visit with your household or those in your pod.
The inside features the most Maine decor, including things like lights, fishing nets, fishing rods and cozy blankets. If you've spent any time in a real fish shack you'll know that this is what we wish things felts like out there on the ice!
Each fish shack can be reserved in advance or you can try your luck with a walk-in. Between visits, the shack is aired out for 15 minutes and completely disinfected.
Batson River Brewing & Distilling offers seating for their fish shacks on Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. There are three different locations, but the Kennebunk location is where you’ll find these fun fish shacks. You can learn more about them and make a reservation by checking out their website. And don’t forget to visit them on Facebook. You can reach them on 207-967-8821.
