Oh, Maine. There are a lot of ways we love you, but one of the highest on our list of reasons is just how much natural beauty you possess. From coastal regions to the forests, Maine offers some seriously beautiful landscapes and that means there’s always a place to which we can escape. One of the most lovely also happens to be underrated and that’s why we’re spotlighting it today. Check it out!
The Deboullie Public Reserve Land in Aroostook County's Eagle Lake offers 29,000 acres of some of the most remote wilderness in the state.
And while they're not the longest in the state, they do range in difficulty from moderate to advanced. This is mainly due to rocks and elevation, so if you're comfortable with those features give it a go!
And if you love wilderness areas like this, why not make a weekend of it? There are plenty of remote camping areas so be sure to check out where you can sleep before heading out.
This is one of those places that will remind you just why outdoor lovers flock to Maine.
Deboullie Public Reserved Land can be accessed year-round. The trails here range from moderately difficult to more advanced so if you plan to do a lot of exploring you’ll want to make sure you’re familiar with more rugged landscapes. The area offers hiking, remote camping, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing. You can learn more about the area by checking out Maine Trail Finder and you can explore the trails with maps and directions by visiting alltrails.com.
