My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
The lake will always bring a peaceful joy to it. The sound of the loons, the quiet and peaceful lapping of water on the shore, and the rhythm of the lake itself all provide a calming presence. To put into words the feeling you get while spending time at a lake is something many people have written poems about. If you have been then you know the joy that can come from being on the water. Lake St. George is a perfect example of a place you go to let the stress roll off you and relax.
Lake St. George is a state park located almost perfectly in between Augusta and Belfast.
Those traveling on Route 3 will have no doubt that they have seen this beautiful place. The park is open all year round and offers lots to enjoy. The water is clear and clean with a designated swimming area with a lifeguard on duty.
A couple of walking trails are available to stretch out your legs. But the real attraction is Lake St. George. With 28,170 acres of water, this lake has plenty of room to find your own personal quiet place.
The sun reflecting off the calm water makes it shimmer and dance during hot summer days. The lake's cadence will call you in and welcome you to stay. Take it in from the shore or by your vessel of choice.
Whatever you choose, once you are on the water, you will agree there is no greater peace than in the middle of a lake. The shore behind you fades smaller and smaller and the life of worry you left behind grows dim. With nothing but you and the smooth clean water, you are left to have a moment without distractions and a moment of peace.
The calm lake will reflect the trees and the wonderful scenery around you. Lake St. George is a place to be to let your cares fade away.
Whatever ails you, Lake St. George has the cure. Allow the slower pace, the peace, and the calming effects of the lake to take you away and bring you some much-needed clarity. Lake St. George is a state park so please visit the website for any information you need. But remember, there is nothing a day at Lake St. George can not cure.
