My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
Small towns tend to be built with a close sense of community and in Maine, we tend to have quite a bit of small towns. Everyone knows your name and people are willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Who can forget the terrible ice storm of 1998, we certainly saw people offering up helping hands to one another. Then again if you spend enough time in any small town and it won’t take long for dark secrets to be revealed. Sinister tales of a terrifying past are bound to come up from time to time. The Hallowell Quarry in Maine may have been a popular swimming spot years ago, but the woods hid something more sinister than just trespassing teenagers.
Editor’s Note: The Hallowell Quarry is closed to swimming and we don’t encourage illegal activity. What you are about to read is a scary tale from the past so read on if you dare…
Still to this day, the woods around the Hallowell Quarry in Maine are said to hold dark tales of the things that once happened in the forest. It certainly is unnerving that such horrible acts were committed, but it just makes you wonder what could be hiding at night deep in the woods. Worse yet what is waiting within the forest for an opportunity to come out of hiding and into town?
For something a little less terrifying in Hallowell, try this local hot dog place with reasonably priced meals. Although it is located right next to a giant cemetery and that’s kind of creepy…
