One Of The Coldest Places In America Is Right Here In Maine

That's right! In the top group of states that have earned the title of being the coldest places all year round in America, Maine made its way into the top three.

While Maine may be the third coldest state when it comes to year-round average temperatures, we're ranked fourth when it comes to summer and winter temperatures.

This number isn't one that will shock any of our residents; on most days a temperature that high feels like a gift from above!

Famous for their advanced weather predictions that have been known to have a roughly 80% accuracy, The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts that this winter will be much colder than the average. Included in the Northeast Region, the coldest periods for Maine will be between mid and late December, mid and later January, mid February and early March. In simpler terms, it's going to be cold all year so bundled up!

We're familiar with being acknowledged for our freezing cold weather, so this is nothing new to our residents. One of the most northeastern cities you'll find in America, the area is known for getting hit with significant amounts of snow and cold, dense air.

Speaking of snow, The Old Farmer's Almanac also predicts that the snowiest periods this year will be during mid November, late January, mid and late February and early to mid March. Once again, in simpler terms this basically means we can expect to be covered in a giant blanket of snow all winter long. Who else has already taken their heating blankets out of storage?
