Owned by the same family for six generations, Cayford Orchards grows 57 different varieties of apples, which you can pick yourself in their orchard before quenching your thirst with a glass of their delicious cider. Located in western Maine with stunning mountain views, Pietree Orchard offers hayrides and, in season, the opportunity to pick strawberries, blueberries and pumpkins. OK, so the name may be a little silly, but the cider is no joke. Besides cider, Maine-ly Apples sells honey, maple syrup and ice cream, which you can work off on their one-mile nature trail. This small family-run orchard does a lot with a little -- besides the cider, you'll find their apples in delicious pies, jams and jellies. They also keep bees, who help make products such as beeswax hand cream. At this orchard, you can use your cider to wash down fresh-made deli sandwiches. Horse-drawn wagon rides are available on weekends in September and October.
