It’s no surprise that we love camping in Maine. The state offers some of the most beautiful landscapes with truly idyllic surroundings no matter where you are. Just the thought of crickets, loons, and a breeze in the trees is enough to have us packing the trunk with our boots and sleeps bags. But with so many choices, it can be hard to choose something that feels unique. This farm, located in Steeps Falls, is a great option if you feel the same way!
Riverside Lavender Farm in Steep Falls offers a wide array of fabulous lavender-related beauty and fun, which is why this is one of our favorite spots in the state.
The farm, owned by Retired Master Gunnery Sergeant Mark Braun and his wife Tammy, sits right on the Saco River and offers everything from herbs, vegetables, berries and flowers.
Their lavender plants number close to 6,000 which means this is a must-see for those who love this therapeutic plant. The Braun passion for their farm is so big that they're working to become the largest grower and producer of organic lavender in all of southern Maine.
We love the cozy and comfortable set-up inside, but spending time outside is what you'll want to do. The site also comes with a kitchenette and a super-unique table with benches. You can cook on two charcoal grills and then enjoy some time around the fire pit. There are also lots of fun games and things like kayaks to enjoy the river that's just steps from the tent.
Could this experience get any better? Probably not!
Riverside Lavender Farm is the perfect glamping spot. One night is $135 for two people and includes everything you’ll need. You can book directly with them or check out their listing on tentrr. You can learn more about both the farm and glamping by checking out their website. You can also follow them on Facebook.
